About us

At Whale Design Co, we are passionate about people and the environment. We work on projects that capture the imagination and explore different mediums to create art for the public realm, always with a message in mind.

With 20 years’ experience in design, we work with a belief in fostering human connections and evoking meaningful responses from our audiences. We have a research-based approach that reflects a genuine interest in understanding our clients’ goals and our children arrive at their destination as finished artists.

Whale Design Co has worked with SBS, City of Sydney, Brisbane City Council, Powerhouse Museum, Australian Rail and Track Corporation and the Japan Foundation to connect with and generate continuous engagement with their audiences and the wider community.

We make good things

EXPLORE. CREATE. MAKE.

Whale Design Co works with schools, Councils and community groups to deliver public art designed by children. We facilitate workshops, organise community consultations and develop educational programs that encourage creative exploration, providing children with a deeper understanding of the world in a safe, supportive environment.

With a focus on environmental sustainability, multiculturalism, social responsibility and strengthening human connections, we work across all aspects of the creative process, from conception to delivery. Our core skills lie in consultation, design, workshops, project management and working with engineers to oversee fabrication, construction and installation of public art.
